The Doctors

    Dr. Thuy Quach
    Founder, CEO

Dr. Thuy-Tran Quach was born in Saigon during the Vietnam war. At age 7, she escaped with her family on a small fishing boat to an Indonesian refugee camp. When she first arrived to the U.S., Dr. Quach struggled in school due to her limited English skills and poor vision. She got her first pair of glasses in second grade, and school began to make sense for her. Dr. Quach graduated from Winter Park High School as valedictorian, from Rollins College as an English major cum laude, and from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry with honors. At Nova University, she participated in two humanitarian trips, performing eye exams in remote regions of Guatemala and Peru.

Dr. Quach continues to donate her time to local communities in Central Florida, where she now lives with her husband, three daughters, and two fluffy mountain dogs. When her daughters were young, she discovered that they were becoming nearsighted like her.  However, they were progressing at a much faster rate than she did.  Alarmed, she started them on treatments for myopia management and was able to stabilize their vision. Since then, Dr. Quach has focused on understanding this phenomenon and utilizing the latest research to manage myopia on her young patients.

She received her optometric education at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale and completed further training at the VA Hospital in Gainesville. Dr. Quach began her Central Florida practice as an Independent Doctor of Optometry at several LensCrafters, including at the Winter Garden Village, where she quickly became known for her personalized patient care.  Now at The Eye Place of Windermere, Dr. Quach continues to strive to provide exceptional family eye care with an individualized approach, taking the time to address your concerns and thoroughly answer your questions.
